Many of you have watched our videos here at TrainASDI.com.  What you may not know is all these videos are available on YouTube as well, where we just hit 1000 Subscribers.  To subscribe to a YouTube channel means that when you go to YouTube you will see videos from the channels you subscribe to.  So for example when you subscribe to the TrainASDI channel you will see on your YouTube homepage new videos that we have made.  So if you like our videos head on over to YouTube and subscribe by either searching TranASDI or click subscribe here http://www.youtube.com/user/TrainASDI?feature=mhum at our channel.  Videos are posted about once a week so subscribing is a great way to keep up.

Look forward to see many more videos on our YouTube channel.  Videos include firearms tactics, concealed carry options, firearms reviews, and much more.  Also feel free to send us messages or leave comments on YouTube about what videos you would lie to see us shoot.  For example if there is a type of ammo you would like to see us test, tell us and we will do our best to test it in a video and tell you what we think.

Shooting the ASDI Spice Commercial

November 4th, 2010

Many of you may have seen the Old Spice commercial called “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”, if you have not seen it check it out on YouTube by clicking this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE .  This video has become viral and millions have seen it and many have made their own versions of it joining in on the fun.  Not to jump on the band wagon but we though that the firearms community could really have a lot of fun with a video like this, so The Armed Self Defense Institute started shooting the video yesterday.  The video should be up some time next week for everyone’s enjoyment.  If you want to be notified when the video comes out just Subscribe to us on YouTube here http://www.youtube.com/user/TrainASDI?feature=mhum or ”Like” us on Facebook here http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Armed-Self-Defense-Institute/138644536155322 .

Private Class Promotion

October 28th, 2010

We hold the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit course (aka Utah Concealed Weapons Permit course) just about every Saturday.  Still many people are not free on Saturdays and have not been able to find a class that fits their schedule.  So the Armed Self Defense Institute will be running a promotion through the end of the year.  If you set up a private class of 5 people or more in your home you get the class free, and we will hold the class around your schedule.  This way those who cannot find a class that works for them can create a class around their schedule and they get to take it for free just for hosting the class.

Classes can be scheduled on week nights, weekdays, or Saturdays.  Just call us at (801) 613-2734 or click this link to e-mail us http://www.trainasdi.com/contact/

Halloween Pumpkin Shoot

October 27th, 2010

For Halloween we had the First Annual “Armed Self Defense Institute Pumpkin Shoot”.  Basically, we went out and shot pumpkins with various handguns, shotguns, and rifles.  It doesn’t have a lot to do with self defense training or even concealed weapons permits, but it was a ton of fun and shooting should be fun.  We filled a couple of the pumpkins with water to get a better explosion and sure enough we go it.  The 12 gauge slug shot into a pumpkin was by far one of the best as the pumpkin went everywhere including hitting the camera.

The pumpkin shoot was so much fun that it will be a yearly event.  Future Pumpkin shoots will be open to the public.  For your invite “like” us on facebook here http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Armed-Self-Defense-Institute/138644536155322.

Picking a Handgun for Self Defense

April 29th, 2010

When picking a handgun for self defense the most important thing is that the handgun fits you. By this I mean that the handgun must be your choice. While you may not know much about firearms you probably know someone who knows everything about firearms. This person can help you but you must choose the handgun that fits you. If you buy a handgun that does not fit you well, then you won’t practice with it and you might not even use it at all. This means the final decision on what handgun you purchase is yours.
